Welcome to My First Marathon - a podcast about what it’s really like to train for and run your first marathon.

Each week, I sit down with runners to talk through the ups, downs, and everything they didn’t see coming—from the first run that sparked the idea to what they were thinking at the finish line.

Some guests are first-timers. Others have run a few. But they all remember what that first one meant—and what it took to get there.

This space is for anyone figuring it out as they go. Whether you're on your first training plan or back for another round, you’re welcome here.

About Me

Taylor Sayles - Host

I started running during one of the hardest seasons of my life: new city, no job, and not a clue what I was doing. What started as a way to clear my head turned into something much bigger — confidence, community, and the finish line of my first marathon.

Now, I host My First Marathon, a podcast where everyday runners share the real stories behind their first race, what they learned, what surprised them, and how running changed things.

Along the way, I realized how powerful it is to have guidance through the process. That’s why I now offer 1:1 marathon coaching for runners who want structure, accountability, and support from someone who’s been there. My approach is simple: meet you where you are, build confidence with smart training, and prove that anyone can run a marathon.

If you’re chasing your first finish line or just want to remember what that felt like, I’m glad you’re here.
